Elle's Shower

Thank you to our awesome friends for Elle's shower. We had a blast with the Thomas, Docks, Schoonvelds, Rings and Fosters. So Martha put together the games, pretty fun. Check em out:

*Ok, this one was Martha's...what was she thinking of?

Game # 2- Guess the poopy diaper - gotta love this one. Who doesn't like thinking of a babies diaper as just a melted candy bar. Emily Dock had an easy time with this one since all she craved in the 8 month of pregnancy was chocolate. I would have gotta more had I remembered that I was with Martha when she bought the candy bars. Little did I know what they were for. Shoot, way to be on top if it.

Game #3- Baby Station Relay - this one was the BEST Ok, so here are the stations.
Station 1- unbuckle the baby from the car seat (don't worry, they were cabbage patch dolls)

Station 2- mix a bottle with no lumps (great job judging this one Ryan)

Station 3- eat a jar of baby food: oatmeal and pears anyone? Josh couldn't keep it down!

Station 4- change the babies diaper. there were definitely diapers falling off at this point.

Station 5- buckle the baby back into the car seat

Done!
Congrats to the Schoonvelds for winning, and they don't even have any babes at home anymore. Shoot what happened to the couples that actually have infants in car seats, diapers and drinking bottles. Oh, well it was tons of fun.

bath vs. dinner

elle decided to pee all over her outfit just as the thomas were showing up for dinner. so to the bath it was, dinner...we put on hold. thanks barricklows for dinner via ry and martha. we love hong kong kitchen. funny thing was a week before elle was born i was craving Chinese food and tried to have it with the thomas but the restaurant was closed. well actually it wasn't, martha just thought it was b/c no one answered the phone when she called. way to come through erin and josh.

happy valentine's day

love is in the air. who can't pass up heart shaped pancakes and yummy chocolate cupcakes? elle is definitely already loved by soo many, grammie and grampie gave her her first baby doll...how cute! aunt paulette gave her the cutest swimsuit, lots of fun we'll have this summer. and gram and gramp got her a cute girl outfit! we love you little girl!

saturday evening we checked out the ice cravings downtown st. joe, elle's first ride in her stroller. she loved it, ok actually she was asleep the whole time.

60 degress in Feb?

how can you not go out for a walk when it's 60 degrees in Feb. in Michigan, none the less. however, we should have gone out during the daylight so as not to get run over by a car on our first walking trip. way to go me, waiting till it was dark just because you wanted to get stuff done inside during the day. seriously, i should just relax. i'm home until may i am sure i'll get my long list of stuff done by then.

matilyn and i had fun building, knocking down and taking crazy pictures with each other. at just the age of 3 she is just a hoot and has such a large vocabulary! you must take after your daddy. my brother matt used to read the encyclopedia for FUN! that's right, fun. along with my sister elizabeth, can we say...NERDS! we love you anyway matilyn spite your father's interest in the encyclopedia.

daddy time

josh loves holding elle when he comes home from work. he goes right to her and snuggles up with her. last night he spend some time reading to her in her nursery...how precious. we love our family time.

no dating until you're 30, unless...

elle got her first roses from micah dock. jeff and emily dock are good friends from high school and college and we're hoping that elle and micah take to one another when they get older. of course that means we'd be paying for the wedding, who cares at least we'd like her in-laws.
elle's other prospects are the twins...ethan and garrett. she likes the older boys! we'd be happy with either boy and set of in-laws. who agrees with arranged marriages? they can't be all that bad!

i love getting a bath, especially the head massage...soon i can go in my fun bathtub.
