happy father's day

we had a great time celebrating fathers our first full day in mexico!
the hotel next to our condo had a father's day brunch special...basically all dad's were FREE!
elle enjoyed her first harp playing experience and of course her first walk in the ocean with daddy.

thank you josh for being an amazing father to our little girl.
she is so blessed to have a daddy like you. you make her laugh to wipe away the tears and snuggle in tight just to make her squirm. all day she says "dadda" and runs to greet you each day after work. she loves your playful side but knows you'll always protect her.

it has been fun to see you quickly step into the father role and yes you are protective...someday she'll learn to appreciate it. i can't wait to see you with a little boy.

happy father's day to the 2 dads

josh's dad has a soft spot for elle. we could be busy trying to board a plane and still he's trying to make her smile. he is a father who challenges and someone josh strives to become. he loves to teach and serve others - thankfully josh picked up a lot that his father taught while growing up. i.e. all our house projects that can be done for free. thank you for loving our little girl and challenging us to be better.

we have been blessed with 2 of our very own wonderful dads who have had the chance to share in our joy of raising ellington.

my entire family would all agree i'm am for sure a daddy's girl (which i am sure ellington will be). we'd have our coffee in the morning together which he now enjoys with his grandkids (garrett) and it wouldn't be a saturday if dad didn't come get me from bed for "carrybus" down to breakfast. in high school dad was the one who made the high energy oatmeal for me for race days...i'm sure it helped!! none the less my dad is quiet but has a servant's heart and is full of love for everyone in our family, especially the little ones.

thank you dads for all your love and support
we love you!

it's a BOY!!

we're excited to announce that we'll be adding a little boy to the mix come october.
we couldn't be happier. it will fun to have the best of both. so here come the cargo shorts, graphic tees (josh's favorite) and trucks along side the dainty girly dresses and dolls.

pretty sure ellington will love having a little bro. she's pretty much the girl in a dress playing in the dirt. they'll get along great.

our note for the ultrasound technician to fill out
we went out to dinner at Tosi's to reveal the gender.
funny enough my teaching partner sent her husband over to pick up take out and see if she could get the info first...sorry janine we hadn't opened yet.

the proud grandparents finding out boy or girl!

our first of many boyish treats
chocolate pretzels with blue icing for my staff

my 3rd grade class took a vote last week before the appointment and the vote was 16 to 8 for a boy...guess they were right. i bought blue toostie pops for my class to tell them the good news. it will be fun to see their reaction. now onto making a book for ellington to show she's going to be a big sister. josh's mom made one for him when she was expecting his sister, anna. so cute and a great keepsake later in life.

girl or boy???

make your guess???
girl or boy
?

ellington helped make a special cake for the baby. we made a pink and a blue one, come friday afternoon we'll know which one to cut into. this time around we've gone back and forth on finding out or not. each night we change our minds, so we'll see if we actually find out. usually people chicken out and JUST FIND OUT, we're the opposite. it was so much fun not knowing with ellington but this time it would nice to know so we could plan over the summer. so stay tuned to see if the next little white will be a boy or girl. even if we find out we're still not sharing names or the initials so don't try to find out. pretty sure we couldn't even teach ellington how to say the names. that might be a hint for you to ponder.

helping mix up the cake

blue or pink??

the baby boy or girl cupcakes

to tell our families if we are having a boy or girl we're going to have them cut into the blue or pink cake. it should be fun to see their reaction. so needless to say we had to make 2 of each color just in case. now i just have to figure a way out to cover the sides of the cupcake so the color doesn't show through the liner and some white frosting and we're all set.
