nesting...

nesting means i'm getting things DONE...finally!

project #1: hooded bath towels for elle and the babe

project #2: one on one time with elle
thanks cousins for the wagon...i love it! so does tackle :)
project #3: boy burp cloths
elle loves being mommy's little helper. it's funny because i remember watching my mom sew when i was young and she's still doing it. it's amazing how much you learn by just watching. i still need a good picture of the burp cloths.

project #4: elle's art/school cupboard
she's either going to love having a teacher for a mother or be totally annoyed!
let's hope for the first at least for now.
we're starting a color a month basket...so october is ORANGE
i can't get away from the lesson planning, it's even more fun to plan for just ONE not 27!
project #5: chalkboard
finished...just need a picture!
thanks josh for the awesome chalkboard, love it!

sprinkling blue & white

thank you martha & all the ladies
for an afternoon of trucks, trains and all things boy!
with only 3 weeks left we are filling the house with blue and rough & tumble toys
another awesome diaper cake made by martha, compliments from her sister Erin...thanks girls
check out these cute cupcakes martha and the schoonveld girls made
so adorable!

the best part...games!
memory game of course with 33 items
my photographic memory was not working that day...only got 17 items
but the best game was...
get the pacifier out of the ice cube the fastest
how many licks does it take??
thank you
thank you
thank you
to our wonderful friends here who have sprinkled us with boyish things
we can't wait to meet the little guy
and no,
we don't have any more clues to the name other than....
*has a double letter
*not a common name
*elle can't say it...yet!
(spite, martha's daily attempt at getting her to say it!)

firsts

we've had a busy end of summer and a great start to the fall
elle has finally moved into her new BIG GIRL room and is sleeping in a twin bed. i can't believe she is big enough for that but she is loving it so far and has learned which room is her's now. she still goes in the nursery to check on the crib but loves reading books in her new room.

daddy and elle put a cute tree up on the wall the other day, still need to get a good picture of the whole room with the girlie decorations.

we've kicked the fall of right with of course...FOOTBALL!!
elle is learning to cheer on the IRISH team and sports her daddy's favorite team each saturday with her jersey. this past spring josh found jerseys for all of us, even little baby boy coming soon. it's fun to enjoy saturdays together just relaxing with the football game on.
elle has also started to take more and more interest in going "potty". a lot of her friends were potty training this summer so as usually she tries to copy them all. i think we'll at least wait until i'm done working and at home. but we love the fact that she is willing to try and wants to be more independent.
josh and elle putting up her new tree in her room. she loves to be helpful and we love taking the time to teach her things. josh is so patient and such a great teacher.
sleeping beauty in her new BIG GIRL bed. she hasn't figured out that you sleep on the pillow. this how we find her every night when we check on her.
last week was my first week back to teaching. it was hard to leave her but knows she is good hands while she's playing the thomas boys and sydney. thank you martha for taking care of our sweet little girl. as usual we did our first day of school picture. brings back the memories of doing this with my siblings on our front porch.
her face is priceless and pretty hilarious...this totally shows her personality lately
