summer time is the best time to stay up late. doesn't matter because tomorrow is just another day to relax. elle and tackle love playing with one another, she laughs so hard at him and he just looks back at us like, what is she doing? elle is quite the roller now (yes, i know i still don't have a video. i'll get on that one.) last night she rolled all over her room even under her crib. josh likes to think that she was trying to put herself to bed. hhmmm, not quite.

we had a great time visiting with some old friends from GP.
dave and alli and their kids: emily, peter, and joshy are one of our closest friends. we always have a blast when we get together, it doesn't matter how much time has past. they're the kind of friends that you don't care if the house is ready for company or even if the kids won't go to bed. so it didn't bother either one of us when elle didn't go down till 11pm and joshy finally fell asleep around 9:30 and after reassuring emily and peter that the basement wasn't scary they finally fell asleep in our bed around 10pm. WOW what a night. and in usual fashion dave and josh talked and made the meals. allie and i managed the kids and loved every minute of it. here's a little flashback to the earlier days of the whites and smiths:

we enjoyed having some of josh's family here this week. grandma, aunt anne, aunt kim, aunt sue, aunt mary, adam and john. we had a great time just relaxing together. elle took her first little dip in the pool with aunt sue. we can't wait to see her enjoy it even more through out the summer. the boys: adam and john, were great with her. they loved holding her and making her laugh...boy did she laugh!! what silly boys. thank you for loving our little girl!
p.s. thank you aunt mary for the very cool presidential gift...photo to come! since elle was born on inauguration day aunt mary found a commemorative presidential sationary set from the post office. what a great keepsake.
